About us
Affirm Network is a voluntary organisation set up in 2015 to discover, affirm and make known best practice in the international development sector, particularly in financial management. We want to do this by drawing on the experience and expertise of individuals, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community based organisations (CBOs) and cooperatives. The ultimate aim is to inform these organisations to achieve the greatest impact in their work with the world’s most vulnerable people.
This work began on a small scale in 2005. As Affirm we now want to expand our contacts into a network of people working in international development - finance and non-finance people - and so plan and develop areas of practice-based research to contribute to publications, tools, and learning events.
To achieve this, we will work with practitioners and researchers to draw on best practice in different situations and sectors around the world. We seek to build relationships within the network, and form partnerships with others to strengthen the quality of the financial management, and through it the impact of the non-profit sector's international programmes.
